台所の蛍光灯が明滅しはじめて蛍光管と点灯管を取り換えた。身長が縮んだせいか、天井になかなか手が届かず苛々する。
気がつけば妻も縮んだ寒厨(米澤たもつ)
交換用の点灯管を生協に買いに出かけたとき、午前の温かな陽を浴びている老猫を見かけた。スナックをあげようとポケットをモゾモゾしているところに同じ棟に住むおばさんが猫の餌を持って現れた。どうやら毎日のことのようで老猫は配食を待っていたようだ。
午後になっても風は治まらず散歩は生協までにした。寝酒が切れるのでカティー・サークを仕入れた。ホワイト・ホースはカティー・サークよりさらに安く840円だ！髭のブラックといい勝負だが本当にスコットランドから運ばれて来るのだろうか？
書き取りの判らないところを世に問うていたが、英国から答えがきた。流行り病が猛烈に拡散しているらしく、こんな相談にお付き合いしている場合ではないのかもしれないがありがたいことだ。こちらも兆候が顕れてきたらしいし、飲めるうち呑んでおかないと店が閉まる。

I listen to and dictate BBC programs (podcasts) to deter and delay dementia. And oftentimes I come to words and phrases which I cannot catch. It would be appreciated if you can tell me what they are saying and also correct my incorrect catching in the attempted transcript.

I'd say ???(1)??? small ones are at least two to three or four times smaller than big ones, which means their heads are smaller, their skulls are smaller, presumably their brains are much smaller. And that got one of CrowdScience listeners pondering.
“Why do big dogs need big brains when small dogs could do the same job with much smaller brains. It's ???(2)??? watching dogs, you know, doing their daily things, tiny dogs with tiny brains is just as capable as any other dogs, and thinking about it make me think that didn't see any reason Great Danes have huge enormous brain. So my question for CrowdScience is ‘does brain size matter?’.”
This is a great question from Bob ******* ???(3)??? from Yorkshire in the U.K. So we are not venturing into dog intelligence per se, that's a whole different episode, but just the brain power dog need to be a dog, scratching, sniffing, walking and running, ???(4)??? and so on, you know, being a dog.
