The poster is for tourism promotion ofYokohama City, which is one of the oldest open ports in Japan. It had been a gate for importing Western goods, technologies and culture since the late 19 th?century and there are many relics and buildings of the early Meiji era. A rickshaw is one of the icons of Japan’s modernization of the time.
Personally, I think this lady riding on therickshaw is very attractive and has an air of those days.
