Paying homage at tombs of literary masters

It was last Monday. Having collected a family register at Toshiwa Ward Office at around three o’clock in the afternoon, I had time to go to Zoshigaya Cemetery on the other side of Zoshigaya tram stop. In the cemetery some prominent people are buried and I would like to visits two literary masters, Natsume Soseki and Nagai Kafuu.

The cemetery puts up a map board at its entrance telling the admirers where the tombs of novelists, artists and movie stars of old days.

Soseki’s tomb is magnificent, probably disrespect the master’s will. Kafuu’s is modest.??
