CTB Valuation Office publishes advance ruling on freight and charges at ports
Japan is one of customs administrations adopted CIF as the basis for duty calculation.
Freights for the arrival ports are usually indicated on the shipping documents, but when the vessels are chartered it becomes complicated.
In this advance ruling, CTB clarifies what other expenses in the port calling maneuverings, from the charges for hiring pilots, charges to be paid for using port facilities to the labor cost of stevedores’, should be included in customs value

MHWL releases Labor Market (payment) Statistics for June 2019
Ministry of Health Welfare and Labor (MHWL)releases the statistics as under, saying that the payment for full time workers increased by 1.0% and for part time workers it decreased by 1.1%, and part time worker’s hourly wage rose 2.5% when they are compared with the same month in2018.
