A co-op supermarket

The co-op supermarket near my home has innovated its paying system since last week. The new system switched the payment from a customer to an employ to a customer to a machine collector.
A customer, now, moves to the machine after his/her goods ’ bar codes had been scanned by a checker, to the machine and throw the amount of money indicated on the screen.
It is not a big innovation, but this small behavioral changes at a supermarket’s checking booth could mean a lot to the octogenarians customers often spotted in this co-op shop, for it is not an easy job for them even to pay to a human shop assistant. The shop assigns a dedicated helper at the machine cashers for every customer facing their difficulties, possibly for the time being until the “majority” of customers getting used to it.
