Advice sought after:

I listen to and dictate BBC programs (podcasts) to deter and delay dementia. And oftentimes I come to words and phrases which I cannot catch. It would be appreciated if you can tell me what they are saying and also correct my incorrect catching in the attempted transcript.

Thanks in advance.

That's a really interesting question. I think, my message is that the ideal way to drink is socially. Alcohol is one of great, maybe the greatest social drug. And it used to be that is how drinking happened. It's only in the last 20 years it ???(1)??? culture of drinking with friends in bars and pubs has lost into drinking by yourself in front of TV or drink with your partner at the meal. And drink has gone from being a sort of special treat to being a staple of pretty much everything you do. And that is why we have this rising tide of death from alcohol. So the ideal way to drink alcohol is socially in something like, at a pub.

And ???(2)??? wine bar with my daughter because it's very difficult for women to have access to civilized places to drink alcohol with their friends. This wine bar, it's very popular with women because it is a kind of a little haven where they can go. And ???(3)??? exactly what they want to do, which is to have a glass of wine, quality wine. It's an organic wine bar. Safe and without the presence of very drunk people get in your way.

I guess that what we're hearing about mindful drinking movement if you don't want really give up totally.

Yes, I'm not ?????????(4)?????????. There are some people who being completely dry is may be the best way of drying that's alcoholic unanimous mantra. And in fact ???(5)???. But for most of us, alcohol has significant benefits. I like to drink. I like to drink in moderation. The pleasure of alcohol ???(6)??? is one of the reasons I would like other people to have pleasure of alcohol. I don't want to stop people to have access to it. I just want to stop people having been harmed by it. Overall, I think the net benefits of low drinking outweigh the harm of low level drinking.
