の目標範囲を書き終えた。
午後は軽い散歩に出かけた。２丁目の都住を歩いていると猫２匹挟んで婆さんと子連れの父さんが話している。婆さんが五歳くらいの女の子に猫に触らないように頼んでいるようだ。猫を可愛がってくれるのはありがたいけれど猫も機嫌の悪い時があって、サッと引っ掻くことがあるので見ているだけにしてくださいと言っている。
ごもっともな忠告である。４年くらい前に私もやられて、それ以来触らせてくれる猫がいても見るだけだ。
婆さんが猫を抱いて石段に腰掛けたので少し話してみた。オスとメスだそうでメスを抱いていてオスはウロウロしている。オスの耳が噛まれて欠けているようなので、「こちらの猫も喧嘩で耳をやられたのですかねえ？」と訊いてみた。すると婆さんが「いや、それは虚勢済みの印しなのよ」と説明してくれた。「この辺の野良はみんなだいたいおわっているわよ。」とのことだ。そういうことだったのかと謎がとけた。図書館のそばの大きな黒猫も都住の鼻黒も耳をやられていたが、喧嘩に負けて噛られていたのではなかったのだ。婆さんの許可を得てスナックをあげ、一撮いたした。

I went for a light walk in the afternoon. While walking in the Metropolitan Housing of 2-chome, I spotted an old woman and a father with children are talking with two cats in between. It seems that the old lady is asking a girl about five years old not to touch the cat. She says she's grateful for her love for cats, but there are times when cats are in a bad mood, and cats can scratch quickly, so just look at her.
Good advice. I was scratched about four years ago, and since then I've only seen cats even though they came near and allowed me to them.
The old lady hugged the cat and sat down on the stone steps, so I talked a little with her. It seems that they are male and female, and the male is wandering while she was holding the female. It seems that the male's ears are bitten and a little bit missing, so I asked, "Did this cat also get rid of his ears in a fight?" Then, the old lady explained, "No, it's a sign that it's already got castrated." "Everyone in this area has almost been done."
The mystery was solved. Both the big black cat near the library and the nose black of the city apartment were being their ears cut, but they were not bitten off by the fight.
With the permission of the old woman, I gave a snack the male cat and took a picture.
