I don't have any plan to go anywhere this summer, and so I decide to make today’s short trip to Narita Airport Cargo Terminal a my summer tour.
There are at least three options to there city center: taking 1,000 yen shuttle bus connecting Ginza and the airport; getting on Keisei Rail connecting Ueno and the airport for also around 1,000 yen; JR train service which is a little bit dearer and taking more time than the two previous means.
Keisei and JR run express trains, but they demand nearly 3,000 yen without offering any refreshment.
I choose JR route and buy first-class ticket because this is my summer vacation.
When I go down to the underground platform in Tokyo station, a Narita Express train is waiting for, not the passengers, another Narita Express train to be jointed. One train comes from Shinjuke and the other comes from Yokohama, their are linked into one train in here Tokyo station and then goes to Narita.
Today, a group of foreign people, who are buyers of JR’s technology, research mission for rail transportation or some blue blood train spotters. I think so because they are escorted by JR head office staff (pictured).
I don't take this Narita Express train, and wait for regular service train.
My train departs at 1115 hrs, precisely on time.
This is my vacation, so I buy a tin of alcohol drink and a packet of nibblings.
I open the tub when the train crossing the Edo gawa bridge which is bordering Tokyo and Chiba. It does not mean Tokyo is a prohibition metropolis any way.
After one-hour run, when train gets near to Sakura station, the landscape becomes rural and rice fields can be seen from both sides of train windows.
The train arrives at Narita Anywhere Terminal 2 at 1240 on time.
It is the end of my summer vacation!
